Royal Family KIDS Camp offers a full week of positive memories for children who harbor painful memories of maltreatment. Due to the distinctive needs of our campers, who often have severe emotional and behavioral disorders, the Camp serves one-to-two children per counselor. This is well below the 10:1 ratio of traditional camps.

Our counselors undergo background checks and receive 12 hours of annual targeted training on how to meet the unique needs of children who have been abused. We also have a team of registered nurses and licensed social workers on the grounds 24/7 during camp.

The week of camp is full of activities and events: swimming, sports, a variety show, a carnival, a birthday party and presents, making birdhouses, shopping in the free clothing store, hiking, painting, and has included visits from local talent, such as Brutus Buckeye and also former ABC 6 chief meteorologist, Jerry Martz.
